The
State of Kuwait is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf enclosed by Saudi
Arabia to the south and Iraq to the north and west. Kuwait consists mostly of desert and
little difference in elevation.
Kuwait
is a constitutional monarchy and has the oldest directly elected parliament of
the Persian Gulf Arab countries. The country was formed when several clans from
different Middle Eastern tribes settled near the area now known as the “Kuwait
Bay”.
Kuwait
is a highly industrialized country with a GDP of $88.7 billion and a per capita
income of $ 29,566. Ten percent of
the world’s reserved crude oil which is about 96 billion barrels comes from
Kuwait.
Kuwaiti
society is some what cosmopolitan and modern, and yet is stays true to its
heritage and traditions.
